Re: Wireless drivers and firmware

Well obviously the Jessie broadcom-sta-dkms package for Broadcom BCM4311-, BCM4312-, BCM4313-, BCM4321-, BCM4322-, BCM43224-, and BCM43225-, BCM43227- and BCM43228 hardware. I've got a BCM-4312 in my Lenovo and it works well. No additional firmware was needed on my install. I'll put this one in the ...

Re: Installing Jessie broadcom-sta-dkms on MX14

I posted about that earlier - I think re: alpha 2. It builds fine. It works well after a reboot. It doesn't work in a live session - modprobe wl loads the module but doesn't create the device. Anti couldn't get the update-initramfs part of the build to work in a chroot environment so he didn't add i...

Re: installing mepis 11 in tower , cd drive only

If your tower has usb 2.0 ports it can almost certainly boot from a flash drive. You can use the Windows version of unetbootin to copy the MEPIS 11 .iso file to any flash drive 2GB or larger.

Re: Clementine issues in MX-14 Beta1

The only real advantage of the Samba 4.1.3 in wheezy-backports over the 3.6.6 in wheezy is that Samba 4 can act as an Active Directory Domain Controller for Windows networks. Now, that's a big deal for Enterprise users - not so much for anybody else. And it comes at the expense of no longer complete...

Re: Clementine issues in MX-14 Beta1

Clementine-1.2.1-0mcr120+2 is now in the Testing CR.
I have upgraded a non-working clementine on MX-14 b1 from the CR, and it now works properly.

Re: Clementine issues in MX-14 Beta1

The libtag problem affects the scanning of new files. If you upgrade clementine when you already have a music library scanned, but the libtag versions don't match up then clementine won't be able to add new files to the library. It will play the existing library just fine. Since M12 also has wheezy-...

Re: Clementine issues in MX-14 Beta1

I found the problem. The Clementine in the M12 CR was compiled against libtag1c2a & libtag1-vanilla 1.8-2 (the newest available at the time), also in the M12 CR, because the wheezy version was too old for it. Since that time, Wheezy-backports released version 1.9-2 of those libraries, and that's wha...
