Re: Ikkey leaves Solus

Yes, Ikey is a very talented engineer.
Doing it by yourself has taken a toll of many one-man distros.

Re: Gdebi is frozen

@keos,
Reading over the thread, I see which kernel you are using, but not if you are still running MX17?

Are you using the MX repos with Devuan Ascii?
Not a problem just might not be compatible?

Could you post the output of

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxzdlop
in a </> box?

Re: Frugal plus persistence vs full install

@skidoo, that's a good argument for using dynamic,
especially with a UPS or a laptop.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The MuPDF Thread

@Stevo, yes that's how I expected the scrolling to work. Tried with the mouse and arrow keys, but the image would only scroll to about the middle of the page --some sort of viewport limit? Yes, that was weird. While downloading Stevo's huge 22.8 MB pdf of Lassen Volcanic National Park. A beautifully...

Re: Problems with Wine/pychess/Scid.

Why not install the version from the MX repo?
version 0.12.2-1. Is there a newer version?

Perhaps ask the Repo Managers Team?

Re: Linux applied practically in the office space

the biggest issue, when I've pointed the odd person towards WPS,, was that it is Locked to US spelling / grammar,,
& that, of course, did put some folks off of it.
I suppose they aren't interested in correcting other languages.

:) Yes,
Word compatibility is a moving target.
Purposely, it seems, to maintain the lock.

Re: Linux applied practically in the office space

If it were actually open source, I'm sure it would be more acceptable to me. Binary only downloads from China do not give me that warm, fuzzy feeling. Reminds me of Microsoft in the nineties. [NOTE] As Jerry3904 mentioned, I've also been using Linux in my small businesses since 2002. There were bump...

Re: MX 17 Repository: The MuPDF Thread

The major problem I have with mupdf is that I haven't found how to make it scroll continuosly , nor to scroll to the bottom of the page , with arrows or scroll wheel. It is fast, though only microseconds faster than qpdfview. It would be great on smaller netbook screens, 1024x600, if I could make it...

Well, perhaps.
Although it was only reported yesterday I imagine that work has already begun.
