Trying antiX-17.2 kernel on MX-17.1_x64

Although the 4.9-Deb-LTS kernel gave good results there was still the L1TF , L1 Terminal Fault, unmitigated, on both it and the 4.15 kernels, which although it supposedly requires physical access to exploit. Even so, curiosity led me to install the new kernel from antiX-17.2, 4.18.7-antix.1-amd64-sm...

Re: Installed & Updated-Nothing Added-Good Time For Snapshot?

And after that initial snapshot, as you mentioned, generally about once a month,
when everthing seems stable, I like to make a dated snapshot as a backup.
It seems like there are always some changes or tweaks
that I'd rather not have to remember to make.

Re: Installed & Updated-Nothing Added-Good Time For Snapshot?

Sure.
It's always a good idea to boot up the ISO in Vbox to make sure you have a good backup.

Re: Installed & Updated-Nothing Added-Good Time For Snapshot?

After a new install: adjust the interface as I desire,
install my desired applications, run the MX-Cleanup
and then do a snapshot.
That's my plan.

Re: Libre office 6.1

LibO-6.0.1 is currently available from the MX-test repo. I used it for a couple of months, then installed 6.1.0 from the LibO website. I am currently using version 6.1.1 and today downloading and will install this afternoon, from here: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/?type=deb-x86_64&v...

Re: Grabar ISO en USB

Eso es curioso. Aunque he escuchado/leído de esa error recientemente.
Cual versión de LiveUSB-maker esta usando? 32 ó 64-bit?
Algunas otras particulares antes que intentar de nuevo.
Pregunto por que lo hizo varios USB hace un par de meses sin incidente.

Re: Which kernel should I use ?

This discussion brought up some questions concerning the large variety of kernels available. I was curious as well about which kernel to use. The 4.15 kernel runs fine with no problems. Also, the 4.18-MX kernel runs fine. Even the latest 4.18-liquorix kernel runs very well and has some advantageous ...

Re: Migrating files organization from Windows

I don't see any reason for changing the structure you are using. Instead of drive D: you might have /DATA/Angelina and then copy all of that structure into it. Linux reads Windows file systems very well for copying and backup. I, personally, don't keep much that I want to be permanent in /home/<user...

Re: How to get British English on a US Keyboard

I use the US International AltGr dead key for English and Spanish. The £ sign is at AltGr-Shift-4. The regular US International is probably better if you don't need French, German or Spanish. Here are a few sources for individual keycaps to fix the China keyboards from US to UK: https://www.massdrop...

This is politics. I thought politics are not allowed on the forum.
I don't think discussing the kernel license is "politics" if it is then everything is.
