Re: Size diff in iso created with Snapshot?

Richard - how much space does your / and /home take up - before you run a snapshot (including hidden files/folders)? added: the snapshot iso should be about a third of the size eg MX-15 is about 1GB and installed it takes up around 3GB of space. My root fs had 22.1 GB, of which nearly 6 GB is Dropb...

Re: Size diff in iso created with Snapshot?

Synaptic says yes, syslinux, syslinux-common, & syslinux-utils is installed.

Opps, question not for me. :bagoverhead:

I'll try Eadwine's tip.

Re: Size diff in iso created with Snapshot?

Or maybe more likely... Archive manager can't display file sizes of files in iso filessystem greater than 4GiB. This could be tested If the op would mount the iso directly and then check the antix directory. Ummm, could be. Here is the result: richard@mx15:/DATL/CDs/1-ez2boot $ sudo mount -t iso966...

No, it's on /home/snapshot in ext4.

Re: Size diff in iso created with Snapshot?

That's a thought. I have only 825 MB at the moment in /var/cache/apt/archives/ so not the major part of the problem. I remember reading or seeing that isohybrid keeps 2 copies of filesystem for ISO and Mac, but maybe that was just a long time ago. My root fs has 22.1 GB, of which nearly 6 GB is in D...

Re: Size diff in iso created with Snapshot?

I was going to say that booting a LiveCD of Clonezilla and making an Image would be my preferred solution for a personal backup of a system. I've been using fsarchiver (similar to clonezilla) for years but the Personal Backup afforded by Save system to ISO has surprised me. To me it is infinitely m...

Size diff in iso created with Snapshot?

I really enjoy the Save to ISO tool for creating a personal backup. It is a wonderful tool. I have searched the forum and the manual but didn't find a reference to the following question: When I use "Save system to iso" the resulting size of the iso is a bit more than double the size of what is reve...

Re: An interesting video about computers from .. The 8bit Gu

I remember the days of using tape recorders with old Tandy & Commodore machines. They didn't seem all that slow back then. I had a floppy drive. I would start a save of a 200 Kb Multiplan spreadsheet, go get a cup of coffee, walk around a bit and come back to the Save near completed. It was...

Re: LibreOffice 5.1 repos

There is a 5.1.1 coming out soon with a pile of bugfixes.
While it has some really nice features,
probably best to wait a few weeks.
Looking forward to it.

Libreoffice-5.0.4 is very solid. There will be v5.0.5 soon.
Libo-5.0.4 is my choice for production.

Re: Version 2 for htop! A great update for the repo.

I got Steveo's version from Google and installed with gdebi in a console.

Did an apt update and synaptic shows 2.0.0-0mx150+1 as an upgrade.
Upgraded and htop is still working fine.

Thanks.
