If so, which ones exactly? Thanks for your answers. I don't know th exact differences bit the kern c...

Re: Installer jumps to incorrect partition

that is not the partition to boot, its a partition for the /boot folder. You don't need to specify one (it should default to root). The installer won't let you select the same partition twice, so that's why you saw the selection boxes change.

Re: Shortcut wont change XFCE

that's the clipboard tool history manager.

do a right click on the clipboard tool in the system tray and select preferences. then the hotkeys tab. remove the cntrl+alt+f from there and then the Xfce version should take over.

Re: Compton freezes MX completely

I would use the live-USB to boot the system, mount the mx partition, and then copy the default compton.conf from /usr/share/tweak overwriting the one in the user folder on the installed system. if you don't have a live-usb handy, you could also boot into the console by adding a '3' to the end of the...

Re: Grub command line and no kernel in /boot after snapshot ISO installation

First try failed. I upgradet the USB stick (persistence on) with aptitude update and aptitude upgrade. A new mx-snapshot version was installed. Then I rebooted and installed from the USB stick to the T400's HDD. Boots into grub again. You are going to need to create a new snaphot with the updated m...

Goodbye Linuxtracker (and hello new torrent links)

For years we have hosted our torrent files, as many do, at linuxtracker. However, after several complaints from users and news about increasingly dubious advert and popup tactics, we've decided to end that policy. Our new torrents are currently hosted at archive.org. Links are below, and the release...

Re: antiX wins Live Distribution Of The Year

as well antiX should.

given that linuxquestions is the home forum for slackware, I think that is a major coup!
