Re: Nov 10 updates - grub-pc

I just went throught the updates this morning, keeping the /etc/default/grub file as we have it set up, and that was the only question I got. I was not asked to do any installation of grub.

I'm in a dual-boot, grub is UEFI, and MX controls my grub. What about the rest of you?

Re: i3 wm shutdown commands for SysV

Yes, and ending the i3 session takes you back to the login screen. But I want to shutdown or reboot the computer from within the i3 session. I don't want the extra step of typing in a code to log out of the i3 session and then going to the power icon on the login screen and hitting that in order to...

Re: change original installation username

as fehlix said, there will be lots of changes. at a minimum, you'll need to rename the home folder I think. and if you've got things in the home folder that use specific paths (conky, bluetooth) you might need to change some file paths as well. that might also include some of the Xfce configuration ...

Re: Login Manager bug? Correct user and root credentials!

if you've modified permissions elsewhere in the filesystem, and you don't know what you did, its probably faster to reinstall.
