What I have done this morning is reinstall nvidia-driver thru the nvidia-installer tool. seemed to work ok, and nothing is tagged as removable after the reinstall. so hopefully this works ok for ghost67 Yep, after reinstalling the driver everything is working as it should. Installing nVidia drivers with ddm-mx on MX-17 leaves those drivers auto-removable. Upgrading them works properly but leaves the new versions auto-removable as well. It is being noticed with the big update but it's not new. Auto-remove is not set up to run by default and any user who had been using...

Yes. More casualties: VLC and SMPlayer don't start. Yeah, almost certainly Qt apps won't start because they utilize graphics acceleration. ghost67 is also posting on this. looks like nvidia-driver gets tagged as autoremovable by apt. this did not happen in our tests, so I'm not sure what's going on...

richb from our dev team just posted his autoremove information. for some reason, apt is tagging the nvidia-driver package as auto-removable. which is wrong. So anyone catching up here: don't do the autoremove! but if that is the issue, reinstalling the nvidia driver will hopefully fix it. Yikes! We...
