The xmms player is not included in the Debian Lenny repositories
It is in mine...xmms2 is the installable package I think.

Does this even need installation? I downloaded the current version (beta 4.22) from the website to see what you were talking about, extracted it and it appears to run fine by just entering that directory, pressing F4, and typing
