Question about exclusions in snapshots....[SOLVED]

Hi I want to be able to exclude Timeshift snapshots from the MX snapshot I make. I read somewhere in the forum that I should put: /Timeshift/Snapshots in the exclusion section text editor thing but I don't know where to put it. Ok, when you're on the exclusion screen right before you get it to start...

snapshots have the exact same live system as a regularly released iso.

the only "bug" is that the installer might not show up on the desktop on a "personal" snapshot. but its still there, just run from the terminal "sudo -E minstall".
Ok thank you for the clarification! Much appreciated!

Will a snapshot work on any computer?

Hi I was wondering would a snapshot of my system work on a completely different computer? Like, I mean would it boot up and could I install it? And if I have a USB stick with full persistence on it will that also work on a different computer? Or does only a live mode USB stick work? By live mode I m...

Or update and take another snapshot, you can take snapshots from Live environment. MX Live USB Maker (and live-usb-maker CLI tool) actually can clone the USB to another USB flashdrive.
Good to know thanks!

Re: Question about snapshots, persistence, and updates...

Hi I was wondering, after I make a snapshot and burn it to a USB stick, and boot it up, can I just update it like it is every so often? Or do I need to make a persistence first then update it that way? I just wasn't sure if I could update it running from the USB stick without persistence enabled. A...

Re: Do any of ya'll play the free Linux games? New games preview video!

Hi I made another video to give a brief preview of each of my games that I have on my computer. The video is quite long. I didn't plan on it being so long but I have a lot of games. Just trying to give new users a look at the games I think are the best to play IMO. There are some other games in the ...

Re: Timeshift vs Snapshot

I have a question about snapshot. If my ISO is around 8gb, mainly because of games, will my USB stick even boot? I read somewhere that if the file size of the snapshot ISO is bigger than 4gb that it might not boot. Is that true? I also use Timeshift just for general system backup but I exclude anyt...
