I would go for 15 if you can get it installed as from what I have seen its full of great small improvements over 14.

As a brief postscript to this topic, I installed MX-15 on the same laptop and all the video issues have gone away with this release (along with many other minor bugs).

Some have seen poor performance with our backports Intel driver on older chips. Slow video with i915 chipset on Dell Latitude D610

I've been keeping my antique Dell laptop going with various linux distros for many years but I'm having an issue running MX-14 on it, the video suffers from a lot of stuttering and tearing. I get the full screen resolution on the laptop but video even using VLC rather than a browser is horribly slow...
