Mom wants to skype now

I got my 82 yr old mother a desktop a couple years ago and just recently showed her skype on my mx LT and now SHE wants to skpe.
Her desktop has speakers but no camera or mic.

Anybodys recommendations for inexpensive hw would be much appreciated?

I have recreated new versions of the launcher and yes, clicking on the icon allows for changing it. I'm trying to figure out how I created this last time in a way that doesn't allow the icon to be edited.

Right Click on the launcher, select Properties, then click on the icon in the properties dialog. I'm assuming this is on the General tab and if so, clicking on the current icon image doesn't do anything. this launcher calls an executable shell script, I believe it was a New link to application laun...

DO's solution worked for me. I just put the .pulse-volicon-cheat.sh script in my home folder (probably bad form) and hooked it up in the Session & Startup tool. skype-ing now on the old latitude e6500. And a side benifit was that my LT audio is much louder now. Although I had all the controls turned...

feeling pretty lame for even asking this but, how do I change the image for a launcher on the desktop? I created a shell script that I run from a launcher I also created on my desktop and I don't see anything in the context menus to do this.
