Re: MX-17 Beta 1 Feedback Thread

Installed on my Thinkpad X230 (all Intel) and it runs well. Added/removed some programs as I always do (all from repos) and then went to make a snapshot. The first time it aborted at about 35% and game a message that there isn't enough space available (there's over 45 GB). The next time it was at th...

Re: Respin Mx16 install new applications

Much of the data and config details for programs are stored in your home dir...

Re: Respin Mx16 install new applications

A method I use to get this done is I have a generic username, like 'user', and I tell the folks I share the respin with how to change the password to both root and user. It's not elegant but it works and it's simple. I'm running as 'user' on this computer right now, as it's one of the ones I use to ...

Re: Installer defaults to 'sdb'

No, this is most certainly not how it has worked in the past. The sequence I refer to is make snapshot, write snapshot to USB, boot snapshot USB, and then start the installer. Well we differ on whether it was always like this. I've been using the snapshot/liveusb creation routine (accessible from w...

Re: Installer defaults to 'sdb'

Just to see what happens, I made a new snapshot and bootable USB this morning. I booted the USB and started the installer and it is defaulting to the booted USB as the default destination. I went ahead and proceeded to the next step and couldn't get any further as it would not let me select a partit...
