Re: Thunar "Delete" Menu = Total Disaster -- Twice

Welcome to MX. However, you probably have another problem. Delete works properly for me - and has been doing so since MX-14.

Re: MX doesn't start with an USB drive attached

Had similar behaviour with a Dell Optiplex 9010, originally with windows 7 installed. I added MX-18 as a dual boot installation and set Grub to start with MX as the OS. If an external USB drive was already plugged in, MX would not start. After a few weeks of this, I reinstalled MX and the problem di...

Re: Do you play a musical instrument, if so: which?

I forgot. The Hawaiian group included a very good fiddler and we all could play rhythm guitar. So we were called upon to perform at local concerts, a regular Saturday evening pastime in New Zealand's far south. Driving home in a Southland winter, four of us in a 1937 Austin 7 was something to be rem...

I played the bagpipes for several years, was in a band, but my job involved 7 day a week shiftwork so pulled out and gave up the pipes when I was in my early 20's.. Later was leader of a Hawaiian guitar group, built 3 electric steel guitars, first a basic 6 string carved out of a piece of 4 x 3. the...

Re: Cool computer and a pretty good day

JayM wrote " but the only way my fan will screw down to the heat sink is in intake position, blowing air from inside the computer case onto the heat sink. Weird."

Same setup here except that the case has a funnel shaped ducting from the outside to about half an inch above the fan/heatsink assembly.

Re: Status of BOINC and Dropbox

Dropbox is behaving OK for me but it is being used only as a temporary cloud store for transfer of files between a small team using Gimp and Photoshop to recover several thousand old documents. We are only uploading and downloading, no attempts at syncing. You could take a look at Mega.nz, it provid...
