I think the error is it requires systemd which I'm not using. I can even use Synaptic to remove. Maybe one of packagers can check the deb and...

Which Video card?

Which video card for using in Linux, Radeon RX Vega 64 or GeForce RTX 2070? This would be for my grandson's computer which currently has AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition and an AMD video card (I don't remember which one right now). He is using Win 7 Ultimate and will let me install another hard dr...

Re: Installing PureVPN

This is my first try at using Linux. I have repurposed an old Vista PC for Linux and installed MX17 which looks great. I have a PureVPN account and am trying to install it but without success. I downloaded the Debian 32 bit version and installed it but I can't find it or if it is working. When I tr...

Re: Email programs with MX Linux 17.1 and Linux in General

Seems like it would be easily possible to allow basic html formatting commands (bold, underline, italics) while prohibiting automatic loading of external links, much like for example this forum software does. "the_bat.chm" From the Bat Help: With The Bat!'s Mail Dispatcher you can easily manage your mail on the server, even with POP3 accounts. It is especi...

Re: Email programs with MX Linux 17.1 ..

Go here and scroll down to see a comparison. https://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/ My old version is the Pro but I never tried the portable version as I just had a copy installed on both my laptop and my desktop. The one thing that I did not like was their mail ticker which I disabled. What I ...

Hi wulf, well, I guess I should say upfront that this has kind of morphed into a different topic - eMail for Linux. Yes, there is something about/in thunderbird that always twist me the wrong way. I always end up uninstalling it. I'm sure they all have there ups and downs. I tend to like the progra...
