Re: Update errors

In any case, a reload (check for updates) sorted it out and they were gone. That didn't work for me, unfortunately. There are really two options here: 1) from the terminal, I ran apt-get upgrade --fix-missing. That allowed 3 of the 5 updates to process. Per your comments above, we'll await the othe...

Re: Package Request: mympd

Just to be clear, the mympd program GUI can be accessed by a web browser over the network from other machines, but the mympd daemon has to be on the mpd box. For a standalone Raspberry Pi mpd server this works fine as it can be controlled from any web browser (including a cell phone) on the local n...

There are debs in the subfolders there, too.
I tried installing the debs but was stopped by unmet dependencies.

Re: Package Request: mympd

I was able to install their deb. It requires sudo mympd -c to start up the first time to create its directories in /var, look for the mpd daemon and create a config file after which it supposedly drops privilege. After trying to use it I discovered it must be installed on the same machine that's ru...

Package Request: mympd

Hello - Wondering if it is possible to ask that this mpd client be made available on MX-21? https://github.com/jcorporation/myMPD/blob/master/README.md I tried and struck our following the directions to download a pre-packaged debian version. The client has some unique features that are very appeali...

Re: Older HP Laptop with Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150

You might also have to consider that maybe your existing wifi card is on its last legs. On your Pavillion it's dead easy to replace it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrPl9Fr4HhM I do have a Linksys USB Wireless N dongle that I could use instead, but of course it sticks out the side, kind of in th...

Re: Older HP Laptop with Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150

In the interim, while we are waiting for your QSI, try setting your modem to broadcast in "G" only. At the best of times Wireless N is very susceptible to interference which will cause the router to do a lot of re-sending of packets (accounts for the slowness). Also, the little bit of res...

Re: Older HP Laptop with Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150

Also, I did add the files mentioned here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en ... eless.html

Seemed to have improved things a bit, but still a bit slow.
