Minor error message in Synaptic

I've noticed for a while that the terminal output in Synaptic starts with:
Gtk-Message **: Failed to load module "atk-bridge" at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl5/5.24/Gtk2.pm line 126, <> line 3.
This appears in duplicate but doesn't seem to affect the process.

Re: how to install MX

Boot the MX Live USB, start the installer and when you get the problematic message, press PrintScreen. Save the snapshot & post here.

Re: Can anyone recommend to me a cheapish, current model notebook that loves Linux?

+1 for Lenovo. My X220 was £199 a year ago. It's good on power, running 13 watts at idle, max 35 watts under full load. You would probably want to add some speakers - the sound quality is OK for 5 or 10 minutes, but it's rather tinny.

It's the same mechanism that controls my use of the Forum. When I'm checking posts throughout the day, 'Newest Posts' always shows the exact number of topics with unread posts - there are never more or less!

Re: Batch conversion of .csv to .xls

Thanks. I don't have Excel (and have never used any Microsoft apps), but I would think the same thing is possible with a LO macro. That's probably a big learning curve for me - my experience with scripting is Lotus 123 (DOS), Lotus Approach and Filemaker. All slightly different and full of traps whe...

Re: Batch conversion of .csv to .xls

Thanks, Jerry. csv2odf certainly looks a good and simple possibility. The description doesn't include .xls as an output format, only .xlsx, which Filemaker rejects. However, the examples in the documentation shows an output template for .xls, so it may be OK. It does mean that I have to create templ...

Batch conversion of .csv to .xls

I'm looking for a quick method for converting about 12 .csv files to .xls. I do this monthly, currently opening each file in LibreOffice and saving as .xls. It's a boring, repetitive process. I need a local solution - the online converters I've found so far don't make the task any quicker.

Any ideas?

Re: Experienced a font printing problem

fehlix mentioned Master PDF Editor. I would also recommend that - the free version does most of the basic tasks. I've received a fair number of problem PDFs over the years and Master PDF Editor has dealt with them all.
