Re: Audacity 2.3.0 Test Repos ... A no-go

Well caught.
I checked the Audacity github and so far there have been no commits to patch the problem.
Therefore, Audacity 2.2.2 has now replaced 2.3.0 in the MX-15 & MX-17 Test repos.

Re: USBview

USBView uses the deprecated usbfs mounted at sys/kernel/debug/usbdevices/ . It's still possible to configure a kernel to expose that, but since it's deprecated our kernels are not so configured. Pretty much anything USBView would show can be seen using the USB tab in Hardinfo. In an attempt to be in...

Re: Package Request: MineTime

Since it's an appimage, it should be safe to install.
However their license doesn't allow commercial use or distribution, so we are not allowed to add it to our repositories.

Re: request to upgrade simple-scan

Simple-scan 3.28-1 is now available in the MX-17 Test repo. Use the Package Installer in MX-Tools to access the Test repo. I have a Canon LIDE30 scanner & it works properly with the new version - but it also works with the stock 3.23 version. I did have to edit /etc/default/tlp as I described in the...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

The last MX15 thunderbird (52.9-1) in the main repository had over a thousand downloads from just mxrepo.com & nl.mxrepo.com, ignoring all the other mirrors.
By EOL of MX-14/M12 each tbird release had single digit downloads on mxrepo.com.
There are apparently a *lot* of MX-16 users around.

Re: nl.mxrepo.com

nl.mxrepo.com is working well from here in Florida. The logs show no downtime or unusually high load.

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Thank you for your report MisterZ. If we don't know there's a problem with a package in Test we can't try to fix it. The Test repo is there because many of our users want the bleeding edge version of their favorite package available. Obviously we can't add all of those to the Main repositories and k...

Re: New SSD required

I own one Crucial & two Samsung SSDs. The Samsung performed somewhat better than the (early series) Crucial but I have had no trouble with any of them.

Re: Brand NEW IBM PC AT 1988

This is being typed on a 1986 Model M. I also have a newer Model M which had been a Token Ring terminal keyboard before I converted it. It fell prey to the only thing that seems to kill Model Ms - before I acquired it somebody had spilled soda into it which eventually ate up the traces on the mylar....
