A new mirror

There is now a new mirror for the repositories and MX/antiX iso downloads located in Milan, Italy. The address is it.mxrepo.com and it follows the same conventions for repository addresses as the other 3 mxrepo.com sites. Hopefully this will make things a bit quicker for the users who recently lost ...

Re: Request for info from Mepis 12 users

I have successfully migrated MEPIS using gparted to copy partitions. Once I had to boot the liveCD to run boot repair. And once when migrating a partition created on a SATA drive on a port set in the bios to IDE mode, it wouldn't work at all on a machine that only allowed AHCI for SATA ports. Not a ...

Re: Any chance AKASHA will run under MX-16?

The current alpha 0.5.2 release installs & runs on MX-15 so it will also run on MX-16.
Of course I can't predict how the Akasha devs will change things as development progresses but it looks good for now.

Re: MX 15/16 Repository: The VidCutter Thread

Not sure if I am the only one with the problem then, but comparing this to my original error message, looks like some issue with libass https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=842522 ... If you read through that thread, the problem was actually related to libfreetype. Mpv & Vidcutter ...

Re: Transfers from MX-15 test to MX-16 main/test

Apparently libopenobex1 is in the MX-16 main repo but I don't know if it is the same thing, an earlier version, or what. libopenobex2 is what Mint 18 has installed for obex capability, so my tendency would be to follow that lead. libopenobex1_1.5 in jessie is an 8 year old version of libopenobex. W...

Re: MX 15/16 Repository: The VidCutter Thread

It is available. It's in the testing repository.
Use MX-Tools. Select the "Full App Catalog" Tab, then select "MX Test Repo".
Package info will be downloaded and you can then select Vidcutter to install.

Leave feedback if you try it so we can get it moved to the main repo

Re: Will MX run the new UNITY game editor release?

The Ubuntu deb from their website installs and runs in MX-15. However, after creating an account & trying to log in it says "Service unavailable - Try again later"

It's a proprietary program so there's not much troubleshooting I can do on it, but I'll try again later...

Does nothing at all come up, or does your video not play correctly? If nothing at all, try opening a terminal, type vlc and copy & paste the output so we can see what's going on...

Re: Help needed to set up a COM port for sw under wine

Well, it looks like the cdc_acm driver is trying to connect to your scanner, but failing to properly recognize it so no port (which would be /dev/ttyACM0 if it worked) is being created. It's possible that usb id of the scanner is just not in the list that the driver knows about. I did find a linux P...
