Re: Has something changed recently that would prevent browsing network shares?

There were Samba security upgrades in April, May & July. You might have accepted a change on one of those. Time to look at /etc/samba/smb.conf

Re: NL repo Hash Sum mismatch

I'm afraid I let my Ham license lapse the last time it came up as I hadn't made use of it in the prior ten year term. I've been using this userid since 1995 (when I was somewhat active on the air) so I'm not changing it. I've got an old rig in the closet but would have to put up an antenna for it. H...

Re: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/ttp could not be found

What probably happened is that you mis-typed a repository address. It's what you get if you type

Code: Select all

ttp://mxrepo.com/mx/repo mx15 main
instead of

Code: Select all

http://mxrepo.com/mx/repo mx15 main

Re: Bluetooth vulnerability "BlueBorne"

Patching bluez stops an information leak attack from that part of the stack. The kernel part of the stack is vulnerable to a buffer overflow attack. It isn't an easy one to trigger as it requires software tools not yet found in the wild. Debian hasn't patched any of its kernels yet, but it is on the...

Re: zram zswap lz4

The package to install to get lz4 is liblz4-tool. It is in the default repositories.
