Re: How to improve fonts

Are you sure your video is being out put at the native resolution of the monitor? I have seen this kind of blur when, for example, a 1680 x 1050 monitor is fed a 1440x900 signal. The ratio is the same so the picture doesn't look stretched or squished, but the pixels don't match up well. inxi -G will...

Re: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely

It appears that the mirror at mx.debian.nz is not pulling the stretch folder from antix. We do serve that to the mirrors, but as they are run independently we can't make them mirror anything. You'll have to choose a different mirror for the antix files at least. In Synaptic -> Settings -> Repositori...

Re: How to fix freezing.

If you installed saving home, it's likely you need to re-make Firefox's profile. Export your bookmarks, close Firefox and delete the hidden ~./mozilla folder. It will created fresh when you next start Firefox.

Re: Site describing MX as a 'product'?

I hadn't given the Main mxlinux.org page much attention, it's not my area of responsibility or interest, so I generally go right to the forum. Now, that I've better explored it, I still don't care whether or not MX Linux is called a Product, but "Products" as the header for that drop-down ...

Re: Problem with Xfburn

Try upgrading to the LibreOffice in Debian-Backports to see if that fixes things. It did fix the "open over Samba" problem.

Re: Viber is not a Debian package

Viber didn't get their deb format quite right, so gdebi chokes on it. Download the deb, open a terminal in the folder it's in and install it with

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg -i viber.deb

Re: MX17: 404 on microcode update

Hmmm, apt-get update is ignoring the the Package files from iso.mxrepo.com/mx stretch main non-free . The package in the repo is intel-microcode_3.20180108.1~mx17+1 . Your apt-get upgrade is still looking for intel-microcode_3.20171215.1~mx17+1 I just booted up a Liveiso session, made sure I was usi...

Re: Remmina not in repositories... how do we add?

It's in debian backports.
Use MX-Tools -> Package Installer -> Full App Catalog -> Debian Backport Repo to install it

Re: MX17: 404 on microcode update

Those 2 Contents files are optional files that the mirroring process ignores. The Package files which *were* downloaded are the necessary ones.
But sudo apt-get update only reloads the indexes. What does

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get upgrade
result in?
