Re: [SOLVED] My wireless accesspoints are not recognized, while others are accessible.

And I see why nobody else has reported this. The version of wpa_supplicant you upgraded to is in the mx TEST repo. While leaving the test repo enabled for regular upgrades rarely causes trouble, we don't recommend it because the packages there have had little or no feedback from testers and there ma...

Re: HardInfo 0.5.1 Devices->Storage Shows Nothing

I just built i-nex for the MX-17 Test repo. It's a hardware information tool designed to look like the CPU-Z Windows tool.
I'm not crazy about the look of it but it's comprehensive including for Storage & USB. Give it a try.

Re: MX Linux freezing

You are running VLC from the debian-multimedia. We ship with debian-multimedia disabled because when left enabled for regular updates it often results in conflicts. You are unable to re-install the stable version of vlc, either because you did not remove the DMO versions of vlc-nox and/or libvlccore...

Re: /Dev population errors

Do you have usb ports/card reader on a front panel, connected to headers on the MB? I had to replace mine recently because those ports & card reader kept disconnecting (the permanent ports on the back kept working fine). If one of those went faulty enough I suppose it could cause problems on the...

Re: HardInfo 0.5.1 Devices->Storage Shows Nothing

The Hardinfo project is over a decade old, and the last official release was in 2009. There has been activity in github but lately it's all applying submitted patches. The original author is not doing any coding for it anymore. The module that populates the Storage tab hasn't been touched in 18 mont...

Re: /Dev population errors

When a computer that was formerly working correctly starts getting this kind of error, I suspect that the power supply is starting to fail, or there is overheating. Either one can have that effect of devices being recognized and working, then failing after a short time. Check to make sure your fan(s...

Re: gpsbabel request

Stevo has packaged gpsbabel-gui_1.5.4 for the MX-15/16 Test repository, so you can install it with the Package Installer in MX-Tools. If you want to continue on as a learning process, you probably need to set the default Qt on your system to Qt5 with export QT_SELECT=qt5 since it looks to me as if i...

Re: LibreOffice 6

I think I may have misunderstood your question. Updating Libreoffice with MXPI will remove the Libreoffice MX ships with, or previously updated to from debian backports.
It will not remove LO manually installed from the Libreoffice site download.
