Yeah, when I had trouble with discovery on the hplip, I tried it manually in Settings>Print Settings.
I even have a USB cable plugged in.
No joy.

Re: HP Deskjet 4100 series printer installation

That printer needs the 3.20.5 version of HPLIP. It may be that you have an earlier version installed and that's why the printer discovery failed. You can install the 3.21.4 version with MX Package Installer. While you've got MXPI open, you might also install hplip-gui as well. I can't find the vers...

HP Deskjet 4100 series printer installation <SOLVED>

I've always used HP, because they generally seem to have better Linux support, but I'm having trouble with setting this ne up. There is no cable ethernet option for connection, but I have tried both wifi and USB. Nothing I do shows discovery of the printer. Using the CUPs interface seems to detect t...

rtl8812au driver install SOLVED

Never mind. I'm retarded. Forgot to reboot.... downloaded source code from github and compiled. Output is below quick system info. I don't know why this card is so hard to install... I would have thought it would have been in the kernel by now, or at least in one of the packages... Any help? System:...

cli-installer help

Trying to use the cli-installer, since the Intel graphic chip doesn't seem to agree with the MX 19.2 kernel, or something. Typical black screen with flashing cursor like I've had to deal with on various Nvidia machines. My issue is that the cli-installer doesn't seem to detect (or let me see, at lea...

Re: Signal-Desktop encrypted communications package

FWIW, I've been running Signal on MX for quite a while, now.
I've had no issues with it at all.

Yeah, that was my original post on the same device, but I was using it on a different machine.
It seemed to work fine, then, but damned if I can get it to work on the current box.

Re: RTL 8811au driver

Did you search the web for RTL8811au linux? Yeah, I did. Apparently, the only .debs available for it are packaged by Kali and Parrot, which are both pentesting distros. Github has them, but for some reason, compiling their drivers doesn't work for me, even though the compile appears to complete wit...

It's theoretically a RTL8811au chipset in a wifi dongle.
Or it might be a cleverly disguised brick.
