Re: Formatting USB drive

Gparted is perfectly capable of doing this. Make absolutely certain you have the correct drive selected, and set the File System to FAT32. If you find that unsuitable, the Linux Mint utility to do this has been imported by the developers. To install it using the Package Installer, select the Full Ap...

Re: All open windows are showing in all work spaces

If I'm understanding your problem correctly, right-click the panel, select Panel Preferences>Items>Window Buttons>Edit icon. In the Filtering section, un-check Show windows from all workspaces or viewports.

There is at least one non-Broadcomm, an Intel based one. They are incredibly easy to swap on that model as they are under a...

Re: Optimise SSD

Although written for Mint, there's more here than you'll ever need: https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/ssd I used to panic about an SSD wearing out, but in practice, their longevity is proving better than spinners. I run without swap on a laptop with plenty of RAM, and put swap on a ...

MX Cleanup for MX 17 only?

The question has been asked on the Facebook page - will Cleanup be available for earlier versions of MX?

To save me the pain of installing an older version to check, can anyone tell me, please?

Re: Question: MX package requests vs. other distros

I don't know how accurate this is, but suspect it's in the ball-park: https://www.owler.com/company/linuxmint Other differences between MX and Mint is that Mint is a commercial organisation, with a CEO, and employees. MX is by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. Mint is based in one country, with employee...
