Re: youtube-dl error: What's wrong? [solved where possible]

More about youtube-dl The devs are working to setup youtube-dl so that you can get the upgrade direct from the youtube-dl site. They usually fix it quickly. The command to upgrade works if youtube-dl was downloaded from their site. The upgrade command may work if the devs make some changes soon. Els...

Re: youtube-dl error: What's wrong?

Good catch, I mistyped bypass (corrected above).

I've had better luck with some links if I use single quotes.

Typing on cellphone is error prone for me.

I'm glad it worked partially for you.
Google keeps changing things to break youtube-dl.

Re: youtube-dl error: What's wrong?

Ok, try it this way:

Code: Select all

youtube-dl -c -x -i --audio-format mp3 --geo-pass --youtube-skip-dash-manifest 'https://.......'

Re: Help with Random Desktop Lock-up?

Kind of an obvious question, but have to ask.
Did you check the MD5SUM of the downloaded ISO? And did you use the same ISO to install the others?

Re: anacron script for everyday updates

This is an interesting thread about Cron jobs;
however, I'm not brave enough to use one to automate all updates unattended at boot.

I guess Jerry was correct.

The warning message about an upgrade problem won't be much use no matter where it is placed,
if it doesn't get read before the update.

Re: MX Snaphot throws an Error

The error message means that although you have lots of disk space, there isn't enough where it wants to build and store the generated ISO. It defaults to /home/snapshot/

You can change the default in the config option offered at the first page of the app. (Not looking at the computer right now)
