Re: Intel GMA X3100 driver

It should have shown something for the `cat /proc/cmdline` command, but I mainly wanted to see that because I wanted see whether you were using the nomodeset option or not, and you aren't, it would force it to use the vesa driver. The inxi report you posted shows that it's using the modesetting driv...

Re: Where's Warren?

I don't know if that has anything to do with Warren or not. I did notice this a day or two ago, both mepis.org and mepis.com now show the following: This domain has expired. If you owned this domain, contact your domain registration service provider for further assistance. If you need help identifyi...

...It looks like it is using the vesa driver but from reading the forum I should be using modesetting.
How do I do that?
I don't know if I can be much help to you, but it might help others if you posted the output of

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxx

And

Code: Select all

cat /proc/cmdline

Use code tags.

Oh god you are my savior. I was too stupid not to see the "hide library and developer packages" checkbox. Finally after your perfect instructions i have the newer mesa drivers in my system.

Thank you all people
Glad it worked for you. Btw don't feel bad, I missed that checkbox the first time too.

Re: Mesa drivers

I found a way to do the Mesa upgrade using MX Package Installer. For all steps below make sure the "Hide library and developer packages" checkbox is unchecked. 1) 'Full App Catalog' tab, select Debian Backports as source, type 'mesa' in search box, upgrade all installed mesa packages that are shown ...

Re: How to send an 'E mail' - Database - 1984

Even used a rotary dial type phone to call up the computer, I'm pretty sure I was using a touch-tone phone back then. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever owned a rotary dial phone, though we used one at my parents house while I was growing up in the 1960s & 70s.

Re: Mesa drivers

*** edit #2: please disregard this post and see next post, I found a way to do the Mesa upgrade using MX Package Installer *** I wasn't able to get MX Package Installer to do the mesa upgrade, I think because it was changed recently (in the last couple months) to ignore packages beginning with 'lib...

Re: MX Developer spin by member

I found this post by Adrian about his 'MX-Workbench' spin: http://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php? ... 0d#p458145. And maybe read thru the rest of that thread in case he posted an update.

Re: iso.mxrepo.com

I had some problems with it back last Saturday I think, but it's been working okay the last couple days. And I updated just a little bit ago and it worked.
