You might (or might not) have to force the use of the AMDGPU driver by blacklisting the radeon driver - but that's no harder than installing the nvidia drivers. On MX-18.x I think the RX 580 should automatically use the amdgpu driver without forcing it, I don't think it's even supported by the rade...

I'm not seeing it here. Also I'm unclear on what the problem is, is it that the notification doesn't go away after installing upgrades, or is the Upgrade button on the View&Upgrade window unresponsive. @Jerry, what does `apt-get dist-upgrade -s' show?

...I might of set to not show unless updates available. But since I think it's not working it now never shows in the tray. ... Type "MX Updater" in the Whiskermenu searchbar, then click on the menu entry it finds. That should bring the MX Updater icon out of hiding and make it show up in the system...

Isn't Unattended Upgrades the setting in MX-Updater that manyroads and I mentioned? I'm not sure, does that setting install and configure the unattended-upgrades package?
