Re: Unmet Dependencies (libfontconfig1)

Hmm, it looks like I have a higher version of libfontconfig1 (2.12.1-0.1mx150+1) on my MX-16 install than the one MX-17 is using (2.11.0-6.7+b1) . $ apt-cache policy libfontconfig1 libfontconfig1: Installed: 2.12.1-0.1mx150+1 Candidate: 2.12.1-0.1mx150+1 Version table: *** 2.12.1-0.1mx150+1 0 500 ht...

Re: Stevo's MX16-KDE: strange issue with root password

In MX-17 checkaptgpg in KDE is now started like this: https://github.com/MX-Linux/checkaptgpg ... esktop#L22

But didn't put out a update for MX-15/16. (didn't feel like installing KDE on MX-15/16 to test it)

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Backported Debian Kernel Thread

I figured out a way (actually two ways) to get it to use the amdgpu driver for my Kabini gpu with the 4.17 kernel. First, here's the inxi output: $ inxi -SGxxx System: Host: mx1 Kernel: 4.17.0-1-amd64 x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 6.3.0 Desktop: Xfce 4.12.3 tk: Gtk 2.24.25 info: xfce4-panel wm: X...

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Backported Debian Kernel Thread

I haven't been able to get the amdgpu driver to work on my Kabini GPU with 4.16 or 4.17 kernels. I'm familiar with the boot parameters mentioned in Stevo's askubuntu link (radeon.si_support=*, radeon.cik_support=*, amdgpu.si_support=*, amdgpu.cik_support=*) , and they used to work okay for me with 4...

Re: Help with Synaptic "Could not download all repository indexes"?

Maybe it is because the antiX repo is down. I've noticed some problems the last 3 or 4 days with the antix.daveserver.info repos on my MX-16.1 install. Fetched 242 kB in 19s (12.5 kB/s) W: Failed to fetch http://antix.daveserver.info/jessie/dists/jessie/Release.gpg Unable to connect to antix.davese...

Re: Limit of characters for describing an app in Whisker menu

I don't remember if it's enabled by default, but Whiskermenu can also display a tooltip of the app's description, like the one for LibreOffice shown below, I didn't count them but it's a lot more than 32 characters.

It should go back to reporting available updates if you disable Auto-update.

Re: MX Updater not catching all available updates

Ok, that explains why the update might occur the next day if left to the automatic function. But I would expect the manual update to catch it if it's checking the third-party repos. Oh, I forgot, when Auto-update is enabled I also have it suppress the 'xx updates available' indication/notification ...
