Re: Live USB stick with MX_18 boots to blinking cursor or black screen

Sure! But it might make more sense to only add it with live-usb-maker. live-cd/dvds and "dd-live-usbs (which I'm now calling collectively live-isos) can't easily make use of such a feature since they are read-only. That would work too. Being able to install packages during bootup by putting them in...

...I am happy that our antiX/deb/ feature made it a little easier for you to implement the solution.
BitJam,

Would it be possible to create the isos with the deb folder already in place (without any .debs of course) and maybe include a README file to explain it's use?

Thank you for your reply.

The USB with MT_LINUX_18.iso doesn't have antix folder. Am I missing something?

-Ada
LiveUSBs created from MX (and antiX) isos should have a antiX folder.

So yes you are missing something (or not looking for it in the right place).

Re: Live USB stick with MX_18 boots to blinking cursor or black screen

BitJam, The issue I am facing is exactly this even though my graphics card is different: How do I apply the solution given in this link for my situation? https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=892754 -Ada BitJam might have a different answer but you might try the following: At the very e...

Are they also killing off the PepperFlash/PPAPI plugin (the one Chrome uses)?

Re: MX18 Continuum (Minimal) Release

I've downloaded it and I'm booted into it. I can open a text file with nano from the command line, but not if I try to do the same thing from Thunar (right-click on the file, select Open With "Nano", that doesn't work, throws up the xterm error ). Is xterm installed? It's not installed by default o...

https://sparkylinux.org/multibootusb/ Is it feasible to add this project to Testing? ... Back to multibootusb that azrielle asked about. Re: MX-17.1: packages from "test" repo not shown in Synaptic

I just checked on my MX-16 install and it's also not showing 'mx/test' or 'mx/testrepo' in the Origin section. Packages in the testrepo do showup though with the apt-cache policy command, such as: $ apt-cache policy aafm aafm: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.6.2-2mx15+1 Version table: 0.6.2-2mx15+1 0...

Re: Dump nvidia updates

The only *nvidia* package installed by default on MX-18 is 'nvidia-detect', which ddm-mx uses.

For a machine running continuously, 07:35 AM ?? Is that UTC or some other time zone ?
It should be 07:35 AM, your time locally.

You can verify that by checking the timestamp, /var/lib/apt/periodic/update-stamp .

Code: Select all

ls -l /var/lib/apt/periodic/update-stamp
