Re: MX-17 Beta 1 Feedback Thread

@Max17,

Could you post the output of this:

Code: Select all

 inxi -Nxxx

We can check the Chip-ID it will print out against the list of supported devices here: https://wiki.debian.org/rt2800usb#Supported_Devices, though I think it should come back as supported.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The firefox thread

... is there a way to get rid of window titlebar like in Chrome (it saves a bit of screen real estate). I found this here: http://ccm.net/faq/40304-firefox-how-to-hide-the-title-bar but it's not working for me in MX-16.1, in Customize it doesn't show a Title Bar button for me. I also found this ext...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

This is the big one, right? After this plugins may have trouble? It is, actually add-ons (extensions) are the problem. They're changing to "WebExtensions" type add-ons and I think the old .xpi type add-ons/extensions won't work anymore with FF57. I've changed most of my add-ons over to We...

Re: How to install Sigil?

Sigil is only in the repos if you're running something Stretch based (like MX-17 beta1) or Buster/Sid. It's not in the Jessie or Wheezy repos, so if you're running MX-14. x /MX-15/MX-16. x apt-cache policy won't find it. https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=sigil&searchon=names&suite=...

Re: Live USB Snapshot MX x64 October 2017 No Wifi Detected

So when the /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac43241b4-sdio.txt file is present, does the brcmfmac driver then load automatically on subsequent boots ?

Re: MX-17 Beta 1 Feedback Thread

It does kick. But I would expect a faster frame rate than when run without optirun. Try: optirun vblank_mode=0 glxgears Must be an error in the code [ 1939.715915] [ERROR]Error running "vblank_mode=0": No such file or directory The vblank_mode=0 thing works for me without the optirun part...

Re: MX 17 and PAE

4.9.0-4-686 that's it you included the non-PAE kernel Yep. Which brings up an interesting question...if we only include 1, which should it be? We've had two 32bit kernels (pae, non-pae) in previous MX releases. I haven't been keeping up that well with the MX-17 development activity, have we decided...

Re: Live USB Snapshot MX x64 October 2017 No Wifi Detected

I've installed it but can not get by "shell" from the boot order. Oops I wasn't quick enough. Looks like we are at the same place. Just read uncndl1 NBR edit. :happy: The good news is it will still run antiX17 live. kmathern, I did this. Assuming BRCMSMAC is a typo????? (brcmFmac?...diffe...
