I've never had a problem with installing packages and the package maintainers are great. i feel thats where i was struggling with it, i know its really solid but sometimes when iwanted to build something or install some peculiar thing i ended up being in impossible to ...

Re: OSDisc.com Has Closed

I never used OSDisc but did use some others (CheapBytes?, BudgetLinuxCDs) back in the early to mid 2000s when I was still using dialup internet. One of them had a deal where you'd get 1 free CD after purchasing 10 CDs from them, if I recall correctly my first Mepis CD was a freebie.

Re: What was your first Linux distro?

Mandrake 8.1 or 8.2 back in 2001 or 2002, couldn't really wrap my head around how this Linux stuff worked so went back to Windows for a while. Lindows (remember that one) in late 2003 & early 2004, a couple others (names I don't recall), and then Mepis 2003.10 in March or so of 2004. The various oth...

The resize handles get in the way and won't let you drag it all the way to the bottom of the screen. Something like this works for me to get the terminal window to use the full height of the screen. xdotool getactivewindow windowsize --usehints %0 96% The first number is for the width, it doesn't ch...

Restarting it from the MX Updater entry in the whiskermenu should unhide it.

I just sent you jessie & stretch sets for inssserv-1.18.0
Except that the jessie insserv version you sent still didn't work to get the new zfs installed.
Maybe put them in the testrepo.

Re: zfsutils-linux Conflicts insserv (< 1.18)

Ahhh, I missed that zfs had moved to non-free (in March) The 0.7.12 version is still in main. I should probably just remove the mx15/16 version from non-free, unless you know of something you need the update for. I probably don't actually need the zfs packages (or this particular version of them). ...
