Re: After last dist-upgrade MX-16.1 cripples if I don't boot with systemd

I think because text can be automatically captured by search engines and malicious bots, whereas a screenshot would take a human to read and manually type out in order to capture. I think his inxi switches are meant to leave out personally identifiable information from the result. Still don't get i...

Be aware that we have limited database space for image screenshots. From my standpoint text with code tags is the better method for the forum for textual information. I discourage their use for information such as inxi output.

Re: Primus laptops

Deleted all bumblebbe packages and installed Stevo's nvidia-prime package. When trying to switch drivers get an error message Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display :"1.0". This is what caused me initially to create an xorg.conf which then caused no desktop. glxgears does not r...

Re: Primus laptops

I installed steam but requires an account be opened, which I really do not want to do. Too many accounts all over the place as it is, and I do not intend to use the app. If you really think it would be helpful I will do it. EDIT: Will have to regroup. Lost the ability to boot to a desktop. The same ...

Re: Primus laptops

Have not tried running steam games. None are installed. I will try that.
I have started from scratch. uninstalling and re-installing the nVidia driver. I am in the middle of it. As you already know bumblebee gets installed automatically.

Before I delete it, I will see about steam games.

did you not install bumblebee? they conflict.

I had it installed, but deleted it and as I recall any config files associated with it.

Re: Primus laptops

I have had my Acer Optimus laptop for several years, and it has been worked on for several years for Linux with no auto detect solution for everyone. So I do not expect a solution other than using bumblebee. It works well with the native Intel card but I do not do games. I would not buy another one,...
