That is certainly possible. I checked some threads back to 2011 and they show as https. And both those threads, as you indicated, are new and show as https both in Google Chrome and Firefox. Any one else have any ideas?

Not sure We switched to https some time ago and the address links should be preceded as such. I have subscribed to those two threads to test what I will get. Perhaps you can post a test to each so I can see the result in my inbox.

They are not greyed out in Synaptic. They are non-colored. The method is the same as my suggestion. How is having an unchecked box and checked box with an Apply button (like in Synaptic) confusing? Synaptic has a grayed box for uninstalled and a colored box with a check mark for installed. Not quite the same. They are not greyed out in Synaptic. They are non-colored. The method is the same as my suggestion. How is having an unchecked box and checked box with an Apply button (like in Synaptic)...

In the 'Manage popular packages' section inside MX Tools. Instead of having installed apps be greyed out (IMO this loooks like they're not available) - perhaps have them checked and replace the Install and Uninstall buttons with a single Apply button. So to uninstall something, uncheck it and apply...

An oversight. It should have been locked.

JackC, Please repost in the Mepis help thread.If you are using a beta you really should upgrade to a released version and preferably MX 17 which is the latest. If you wait a short time a point release is being prepared.
