If you want to compare the content of entire directories FreeFileSync does that based on criteria you can set, and will sync the directories.

I assume you referred to the manual Section 3.1.1 Smartphone. There is far more information there than I can relate and remember and state in as clear a manner.

Thanks for that. I have been using Kate a very rich KDE editor, and since I also have dolphin installed in XFCE, they share a lot of KDE stuff. But a feature rich text editor for XFCE is welcome rather than the spartan leafpad.
