Re: Recent files

In XFCE there is a panel item called Places that shows recent files as well as mounted partitions. Right click on the Panel and choose Panel then Add items. Scroll down to Places and add to panel. Left clicking on its icon will open a popup and at the bottom is an item Recent Documents. Clicking on ...

Re: MX-18.3 RC1 Feedback

Flawless installation.
1. Saved Live Home changes to install
2. Used entire disk
3. Grub saved to ESP. Picked up the other two MX installs on separate SSD's.

No surprises in the installed syste

Re: Systemd free MX19?

Strange thought:- If MX19 is made without the systemd-init option, it will be very similar to Devuan :alien: . And if it is made without the sysv-init option, some people might prefer Devuan :frown: . P.S. I have tried out Devuan live and it works quite well even without its 245 updates! antiX is m...

Re: Systemd free MX19?

Many Linux users and developers seem to disagree on a lot of things, and systemd is just one of them. No wonder why Linux can't be and will never be a dominant OS for desktop use. That is a sad reality and it pains me because I have learned to like Linux after more than 2 years of learning how to u...

Re: What to do after installing?

Adding KDE is certainly not general good advice for someone who has just installed MX Linux! Agree. The thing to do after installing is to explore the system. Become familiar with all the MX Tools. Read the manual. Make MX your own visually, icons, theme and the like. Make a snapshot with MX Snapsh...

Re: Systemd free MX19?

So why should you suddenly switch to systemd? In a case where the software you want to use only runs on systemd. An example was the latest PIAVPN client before our devs packaged it to work on sysvinit. users work with SysVInit without problems, whether this is a conscious decision or not. It works ...
