Gparted is available in the mx package manager. And can be install without problems.

You may want to give playonlinux a try. It has some advatages over straight wine as you can install other versions of wine. Some programs run better on older or newer versions of wine. Just a suggestion to try. It in the MXpackager under enabled repositories.

Do you get any error messages when you try to run it from a terminal?

Not all programs will run under wine.
