After cleaning it if it still doesn't work it might be worth replacing it than trying to limit the temperature by software means, I found a fan for your laptop on aliexpress for $15 and on eBay a used one for $10...

I think I will remove that " please check if there is enough free space." while that is the most common cause it can be misleading, please post the log. /var/lob/mx-snapshot.log

ksnip and similar programs just copy the pixels from the screen, they don't open the image file so they have no idea of metadata associated with the image displayed on the screen.
