Re: MX Live-USB Maker doesn't want to read my SD card

OK, I see now what's going on, I think it's detected but it's detected as non-removable disks and we usually filter those out.

One way to do this is to use the command line tool "live-usb-maker" and add --force=usb to disable that check, so:

Code: Select all

sudo live-usb-maker --force=usb

Re: MX Live-USB Maker doesn't want to read my SD card

OK, we are making progress, can you please run "lsblk" I want to see what's the "major" number of the device, we need to include that in the list.

(BTW, that's not the vendor field, it's -I which is the "include" option, so we include only the type of devices listed there).

Re: Half the system stopped working after updates

No with antiX I only use the mx testrepo to download apps requested like mpd ncmpcpp and the like. Are you sure, can you show the output of "inxi -r"? Also, you should not have those mx-* tools installed I think in antiX and if you do, a update from one version to another (mostly translations) shou...

Re: MX Live-USB Maker doesn't want to read my SD card

Program builds the list of drives with this command (does it list it in your case)? lsblk --nodeps -nlo name, size, model, vendor -I 3,8,22,179,259 We also remove "unsuitable" drives, so we use a "is_usb_or_removable" function of /usr/local/lib/cli-shell-utils/cli-shell-utils.bash to remove drives that...

@ Adrian Fresh install with freshly updated distribution results in the same problems - nothing changes.
Thanks, it's a different problem than I initially assumed, I will take a closer look at nvram update issue.

Re: MX17.1 64bit install crashes at installing grub

We had some issues with the installer, can you please try to update it before installing (apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade) and let us know if you still see the problem? Or let me know if you already tried that. Alternatively, as a workaround you could install without installing GRUB and then us...

Re: Security Issues While Browsing - Errors Not Previously Experienced Before This Week

Actually I am not completely clear whether the replies above encountered the same error, or just me. As of this afternoon none of my Mx17 computers can click on a county on the map without getting the error on the next page. Could someone else confirm that they get the same result? Maybe it's possi...

Re: Dave server MX 16

Yes, the correct repo is http://iso.mxrepo.com/antix/stretch/ with /stretch because there are also /testing /sid /jessie I insisted you (and other people) use mx-repo-manager because it's easy to screw up the file if you do it by hand.

Re: Dave server MX 16

Use mx-repo-manager, select another repo, you won't have to wonder what goes where.
