Re: Monthly snapshot announcement

Thanks again Adrian. That is what I decided after reconsidering the first thought. There are still quite a few using Torrents to download MX-17.1 and some of those new folk may not be aware that they are getting a yet to be updated version. AntiX Torrents OK at present with 17.2 released only recen...

Re: Monthly snapshot announcement

You cannot replace it it's a different ISO with different name and md5 sum. Don't see a solution here, people need to choose to download the snapshot -- I mean the best thing probably would be to update a previous ISO using zsync.

Re: Disabling the Test, Experimental and Multimedia repositories

Except that it appears to have caused some conflicts based on some recent forum posts where some users apparently left MX Test or Backports enabled by accident when they closed MXPI before updates/installs were completed. I have done this, not intentionally, and only realised it when a large number...

Re: Disabling the Test, Experimental and Multimedia repositories

Yes, highly unlikely breakage will occur from the MX test repo. The confusion I was referring to was with the MX Package Installer/MX Test Repo. At least two reviewers have conflated the it with the Debian test repo. We had a long discussion on dev forum about how to call it to make it clear(er), w...

Re: Disabling the Test, Experimental and Multimedia repositories

Are you sure the Debian Experimental repo is even in the list of sources (albeit disabled) by default ? As in, you shouldn't see it at all in sources.list nor in Synaptic under the "Repositories" setting. And I thought for more recent releases/snapshots of MX17, deb-multimedia repo (which is NOT an...

In the sticky post, "How to break your system", it says to leave the
Test, Experimental and Multimedia repositories permanently disabled.

How do you do that ?
Normally they should be disabled and you should not do anything, what's you "inxi -r" result?
