Re: (solved)live-usb-maker does not work for me

OK, built a new mx-live-usb-maker with logging enabled (it will spit messages to /var/log/mx-live-usb-maker.log) maybe that would give us a clue of what is going on. The new build is in our github repo:
64bit - https://github.com/MX-Linux/mx-live-usb ... _amd64.deb

Re: (solved)live-usb-maker does not work for me

OK, maybe it was something else, you could get a clue you start mx-live-usb-maker from the CLI and then copy the live-usb-maker command it generates again (with sudo in front) and see what error it displays. Again I should make it easier to troubleshoot, maybe write a log...

Re: Firefox deserves the boot!

maintenanceservice.exe (windows O/S) was a blatant early indication of the handwriting on the wall ~~ the agenda toward achieving a Hobson's Choice scenario, in which a "backdoored" application is ubiquituously, inescapably, present on each "personal computing" device. I might be naive, but I think...

Re: (solved)live-usb-maker does not work for me

Not much info provided: MX-LUM-error.png I should provide more troubleshooting info, since I had that happening to me, I have found at least one cause of it. So for example if the ISO is on a system that doesn't allow mounting the ISO like for example in my case a shared VirtualBox folder the tool ...

Re: Problems with big December package update

Wherever it came from it was forced on us. Nothing was forced on you, there's a reason we don't ship with automatic updates enabled by default, you probably set it up for automatic updates -- in my opinion it doesn't mean "forced on you" when you say "give me all automatically". If you did the upda...

... with all our mirrors out there , fetching all from one repo only, conflicting with apt , confusing the user ... I do not see any reason to keep current concept - but use the same source.list as what apt would use. The similar issue probably for testrep and backports ... ... :turtle: You a...

Apparently Microsoft likes Chromium enough that they're throwing in the towel and switching their default Edge browser to a Chromium base.
That's another reason not to use it.
I heard Microsoft employees like to eat, they also breath air...

Re: Firefox 64.0 is a slugg. [solved]

Firefox is way way slower on any PC that I have ever ran. If you have slow wifi especially. I use chrome. It works better than any other that the only reason. If Firefox worked as well I wouldn't have any problem using it but it sucks for me so I stick with tried and true chrome. Just plain and sim...

Re: youtube-dl package showing false update

it uses ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/dists/ I guess at some point we could try to use the localized repo, there are pluses and minuses (the big minus for the change would that that somebody needs to code it :p ) with all our mirrors out there , fetching all from one repo only, conflicting with ap...
