I rebuilt my KDE respin with the latest MX-18 updates (It still displays at boot something about MX-17 but don't worry about that).

What's worrisome about that? Do you know what opt-in means? It means that if you want something you need to enable it. So if you don't want it what is the problem?

You are missing the home entry in fstab, not sure why is missing. Any idea what you did that might have changed that? Yes, that's the key, you are missing /home for some reasons post /etc/fstab as anticapitalista asked.

How do you launch the tools? From menu or terminal? In general I use "sudo -E mx-packageinstaller" to preserve the environment, also launching them from menu should be fine.

See the example, they use volume01 but you can use any other name I think, you are missing that argument.
