Re: How to create an ISO image ?

That's a work directory, it should be deleted once the process is over, not sure why it got stuck, it shouldn't take that long. Try to start mx-snapshot from CLI.with "sudo -E mx-snapshot" and post here the last messages you see before it gets stuck, it could give me a clue of what is going on.

Re: Time to drop Dropbox?

PCloud actually uploaded my files much faster than Dripbox, it's a good sign. I like it has two factor authentication, in very limited exposure seems like a solid product.

Re: Can I use existing /home for new persistence?

I would just mount /dev/sda3 as a /mnt/data and then link it somewhere in /home with something like ~/data or (or mount it directly /home/demo/data -- demo is the username used in live usb) I would not mess with the name of the default user when I use persistency because many scripts rely on /home/d...

Re: MX Package Installer on vanilla Debian?

IDK if it needs specific files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d, though. See, that's the problem, it might work or might not work, but it was not written for straight Debian, it would require some work to make it sure it works fine, I would hide MX Test tab for sure if nothing else. Maybe I will take a l...

Re: Time to drop Dropbox?

Oh, cute, I'm traveling, I wanted to put my dev folders from Dropbox on a live USB, guess what message I got "Move Dropbox folder on a supported file system" So Dropbox won't work (well, or at all) on Live MX... Does anybody have a good suggesting for a replacement of Dropbox? Google Drive doesn't r...

Re: Lightweight Browser for Twitter use

Haven't tested, but mx-viewer might work for that (might not save the password though), you can start it with

Code: Select all

mx-viewer twitter.com
We use mx-viwer for displaying HTML help files for MX apps, but it's QtWebKit minimal browser...

Re: MX Package Installer on vanilla Debian?

As long as somebody is testing things without recommending things that don't work and we won't hear "MX apps killed my distro and poisoned my cat".

Re: MX Package Installer on vanilla Debian?

Let's not be too hasty with this, it's probably not code with this in mind, I do silly non-generalized queries like grepping for MX version (and also enabling/disabling MX repos and the like especially in the MX Test tab) I would not recommend that without a serious code review -- there's a reason I...

Re: MX 18

It will probably be a Christmas present like most of the MX releases :)
