Re: MX-Workbench Community Respin

Yes of course, you are free to update antiX and install these tools and take a snapshot. Adrian, I’ve been meaning to ask... will you be migrating the toolbox app over to MX-19? It’s a very useful tool! Yes, of course, is it not in the repos? You should be able to install it from here: https://gith...

Re: MX Linux forum is googlized

Is it really necessary to have any translater there? Just asking... I think it's a nice feature, I wished there was a way to keep different language forum separate (but at the same time they would not get much view because there are not many participants) the issue when post from other language for...

Re: [SOLVED] MX snapshot problem (folders in home missing)

One small correction, I changed how /etc/mx-snapshot.conf works, now I have a

Code: Select all

compression=lz4
(here you'd list the compression: lz4, lzo, gzip, xz)

and a separate field:

Code: Select all

mksq_opt=
Where you can add options.

Actually, the search in the forum is not provided by Google as far as I can see, I wish it was, maybe it wasn't this crappy...

Re: [SOLVED] MX snapshot problem (folders in home missing)

You are right, that's something that needs to be fixed, I was not overly concerned about hidden files because typically you'd not add hidden/dot files in ~/Documents or ~/Music and so on and also the most concern was with space so if you exclude all the visible files in those folders you get rid of ...

Re: [SOLVED] MX snapshot problem (folders in home missing)

Don't remember the details right now, but I think it depends if you exclude a folder like this /home/username, /home/username/, or /home/username/* you might need to also do /home/username/.* to exclude the hidden files if you use the later.

Re: Nuke a SSD - Dban will not work on a SSD

We have nwipe in the repos, on MX-19 we'll actually include it because it's a very small and useful utility. It has a lot of ways to delete the drive including some specially designed for SSDs.

Re: [SOLVED] MX snapshot problem (folders in home missing)

You can probably use it in MX18.3: https://github.com/MX-Linux/mx-snapshot/raw/master/debs/mx-snapshot_19.8.4_amd64.deb Not sure how to protect against this kind of problem you encountered, I use xdg-user-dir to exclude the directories for people who have MX installed on different languages, so "~/D...
