Re: Thinkpad AntiX/ MX Use

x200 (no touchscreen) works without issue dual-booting W7 and MX.
This is true for both MX15 and MX17.2, and includes access to the optical drive in the docking station.

Another option you may want to consider is to run antiX as a frugal install on the 4GB hard drive.
Interesting idea, thanks - must read up how to do that.
Please tell me how to kill "tap to click".

Re: Installer difficulty using two drives.

Progress report:- The installer would not allow me to install on sda - insisted on sdb - so It is now on sdb and I am posting from it now. Two snags so far: first there is only about 3GB free space on my home, and second I don't know how to turn off the b****y "tap to click" in AntiX. No doubt more ...

Installer difficulty using two drives.

I would like to install Antix with root partition on sda and home partition on sdb, but the installer seems to insist that both partitions must be on the same drive. Is a workaround possible, or is a different installer needed? Edit: sorry this may be the wrong forum, but AFAIK the installers are th...

Re: USB life wneb using MX live with persistance.

Just stay away from the SanDisk ultrafit. (The tinyones) many of those.models are prone to over heat (like burnnlevel.almost) This worries me because I use a Sandisk Ultra micro sd card (in an adaptor) for MXlwp. The micro-sd is even smaller than the ultrafit stick so presumably even more prone to ...

Re: MX Updater keep asking upgrades i am unsure if are from default repos

Synaptic output looks OK to me.
If I were you, I would just let Synaptic proceed with its proposed updates.
If it does go wrong, you can get the October version and install it.

Re: MX Updater keep asking upgrades i am unsure if are from default repos

......... I can try, but only if it will not do any modifications, i mean if it just show what it will do and then cancel the process. If you want you can let me know which command or what to do and i will post the result. Just use the Synaptic GUI: Synaptic will tell you what it is ready to do and...

Re: MX Updater keep asking upgrades i am unsure if are from default repos

Before doing the reinstall it would be interesting to mark and install all upgrades in Synaptic - just to see what happens.
You have nothing to lose by so doing!
