The application you are talking about is probably digiKam.
Here is a screenshot of a digiKam window which shows the enhancement facility you describe:-

............ ............ ............ The ACPI errors and the malfunctioning autokey are showstoppers for me. I hope you can fix that in a future release. Can anybody assist with the "ACPI errors" issue? (I guess it would help if alpie would come back and give us details of his hardware....

Yes, was trying to use the free OpenVPN.
I don't really need a VPN so I will stop struggling to get one.

User Manager options tab lets you change to requiring password to log in.
