Re: "man init" reports that MX init is systemd?

Both of those ideas sound good to me! Solving it with a single symlink seems like the least disruptive approach. I wonder what package it should go into? I've been busy elsewhere today. we've got an odd-ball package for that stuff, mx-system, that is handy for stuff like this. I'll add it there.

Re: MX-17 Release Candidate 1 - Feedback

I tried the MX 17-rc release and the one big problem I've run into is trying to work with Snap packages. The snapd package is in the repos, but when I install it, Snap fails to work. Re: MX-17 Release Candidate 1 - Feedback

Oh.. speaking of unetbootin, IIRC I actually had to install that myself on 17rc1 as it was not appearing as installed in synaptic when I was installing my usual list of packages. correct...somewhere along the way we chose to remove unetbootin because it was flakey for some people. however, our live...

BitJam wrote:@tim, did you update any packages? It seems unlikely our installer would do this. Does "sudo find / -name "init.?.gz" turn up more than one file? Does "man /usr/share/man/man8/init.8.gz" give you the correct sysv init man page?

Re: "man init" reports that MX init is systemd?

I can confirm the command "man init" is still showing the manual page for systemd, which MX doesn't use. Running "man telinit" brings up the SysV init page. This should probably be fixed as it gives the mistaken impression MX is using systemd as the default init implementation. ...

The mx14 stuff might work, or it might not. Antix live system uis quite a departure from mepis.
