can you post the quick-system-info from when you are running systemd? (you can save the info as a file).

switching repo will do nothing for the google-chrome issue that started this thread. lets keep on target here please. the issue is not the repo, its local. Mauser has chosen not to share what he did to fix the issue, so this issue is done.

We do not package chrome at all. We install from the Google repository

ok account stuff looks ok. by default, the prompt in mx-live-usb-maker to start the burn should be the regular user password. its settable to the root account though (mostly easily in mx-tweak). if you really can't get it to go, you could start mx-live-usb-maker with sudo. sudo mx-live-usb-maker whi...
