Re: chrome window

Hi, I just installed MX18 as virtualbox 6.0.2 guest on LinuxMint 18.3 host. After correct installation of Chrome browser by MX package installer i can run it, but the Chrome window is distorted (see attached snapshot). On windows 10 host with the same version of virtualbox I have no problems. Any I...

Re: Dell XPS 15 9560: Inverting touchpad scroll direction only inverts vertical direction

you could probably also do this in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/synaptic.conf file. I've inverted my touchpad in antiX by editing that file...I would have to look up the exact edit but its something like using a -1 for the horizontal step rather than a '1'.

Re: MX Tweak Will Not Start

I cannot get MX-Tweak to run. I also tried through the terminal and get a message that compton is not running. How can I get compton to run if tweak will not start also? Also MX System Info will not start as well. Must be connected to compton somehow. Thanks if you have nvidia drivers installed, I ...

Re: Permission options in thunar drop down menu not visible.

we removed them from mx because they were more dangerous than they were worth.

if you want to replace them, in thunar open "Custom Actions" and use this command:

Code: Select all

gksu "chown -R root:root %F"
for change ownership to root and

Code: Select all

gksu "chown -R $USER:$USER %F"
for change ownership to user

Re: Error: Unable to locate package snapd-xdg-open

its not available under debian. its snapd-xdg-open is an older package. I believe the functions are provided by the basic snapd package now.

even under ubuntu its listed as a transitional "dummy" package.

Re: Mozilla to Disable Flash in Firefox 69 [News]

Guys, whats the difference between the browser's built in flash plug-in and the one on our desktop? well, TMK, only google-chrome has built-in flash. everyone else, including mozilla firefox, uses the plugin. also, from the article: Bye-bye, Flash! The next step for Mozilla is then to remove suppor...

Re: Dedoimedo review of MX-18

I've avoided this thread because I don't generally like to publicly comment on reviewer article content, but I'll respond to these 2 items from mx users. I think his main issue was that his network settings and password was not carried over to his installed MX18, when it did in his tests and reviews...
