Re: Installation: I have not the window "default user account"

typically the default user is created from the existing demo account. but also user creation would be skipped on a personal snapshot if a non-demo user exists, or the same for a live-usb w/ persistence or remastered that has more than one user account. In that case the password for the user account ...

Re: MX 23.2 How to remove unused DKMS drivers? [Solved]

You would remove the rtl88*-dkms packages except the one you want. I think there are three installed by default. Possibly also the Broadcom-sta-dkms package as well although I caution sometimes that one is also involved in Bluetooth not just Wi-Fi. if that’s important. They are just packages and sho...

Re: Fluxbox for a newbie

also, icewm is not provided on any iso by default. our isos are relatively simple, one desktop environment per iso. Well icewm installed on my PC and i didn't do it through a package manager. you can check the apt-history in the quick-system-info tool to see when and how it was installed. but I can...

Re: Since update to MX23, no picture in AV1 codec videos

I used this for a test: https://www.elecard.com/storage/video/CityHall_1920x1080.webm which was encoded with AV1 inside a webm container. didn't have any trouble in VLC or firefox. this was running the live iso. I also tested with the test repo version of ffmpeg, and video also played fine, but with...

Re: Fluxbox for a newbie

our config will not be provided if an existing .fluxbox folder exists. if you were starting from a clean Xfce or KDE iso install, then just installing mx-fluxbox from the popular apps entry in MX Packageinstaller will bring in everything you need, and a simple login/logout would give you the fluxbox...

Re: MX shows up in boot menu but not in boot options

I presume the boot menu you describe is your PC's boot menu generated by hitting some key at startup ,correct?

I'm not sure how to help, but I think post output of

Code: Select all

efbootmgr
will provide some more info.

Re: Nvidia driver, not acutally up to date

525 is the latest in our repo. our tool only offers drives that are in our repo.

there is a -N switch you can use to pull from the nvidia developer repo. FMMV. YMMV

Code: Select all

sudo ddm-mx -i nvidia -N
