Re: antiX-17-b3-full, base and core-libre versions available for public testing

just noting that the pre-rc is what it says...an iso made in preparation for an RC release, mostly for the devs to play with to make sure nothing silly is missing. Notice there was no announcement. It doesn't hurt to test it, but expect it to be replaced with an actual announced RC soon.

@namida

we are working on it. for now try this

sudo ifdown eth0 && sudo ifup eth0

note that you need to change the eth0 to whatever your interface actually is (check ifconfig).

Thanks, no, it didn't.

It would be nice to see if anyone else with ancient hardware has the same problem. I can't see how it can be related to one particular machine, but who knows?

Re: antiX-17-b3-full, base and core-libre versions available for public testing

I tested antiX-16.2 and I get exactly the same behavior as I get on antiX-17.b3. If I use "allow-hotplug" everywhere then there is no delay when the network is initialized during boot and there are no ipv6 connections. When I use "auto wlan0" then I get a 10 or 15 second delay a...

Re: antiX-17-b3-full, base and core-libre versions available for public testing

here are a couple of syslog excerpts. I use "auto" in one and "allow-hotplug" in the other. In both versions the interfaces seem to come "up". However, dhcp does not complete on the allow-hotplug version, so I get the interesting situation of the conky network monitors...

Re: antiX-17-b3-full, base and core-libre versions available for public testing

I would agree on repacking ceni. @2. uggh.... another option, which antiX has not opted for in the past, is to rely on the wicd daemon for this stuff. If the wlan isn't set up in /etc/network/interfaces (as by ceni), then the wicd auto-reconnect doesn't have a problem...or at least not one I've obse...
