DO, I looked in both areas and do not see any reference to teamviewer 11 only teamviewer 12 in the first one. The second one has a teamviewer 12 folder under share but neither under applications. Any other thoughts? Thanks for your help. you could use catfish to do a search for teamviewer*.desktop ...

look in either /usr/share/applications or /home/$USER/.local/share/applications for the duplicate teamviewer desktop file you want to remove, and delete it. if its in /usr/share/applications, you'll need to be root to delete it.

try this.

1. open apt-notifier (the update manager) preferences.

2. uncheck this setting

3. now use the "View and Upgrade" feature. It should ask you whether you want to install the unauthenticated packages. Say Yes.
