Re: wont load drivers on boot anymore

I'm not sure what happens when you set up ndiswrapper... you can try this create a file called wifi.conf in /etc/modprobe-load.d/ (the directory should already exist) with the contents of the name of the driver you used in your modprobe. reboot and see if things load. Actually there was no director...

Re: wont load drivers on boot anymore

first make sure your module isn't blacklisted in one of the files under /etc/modprobe.d

then try loading your driver with modprobe as you've been doing, then run

Code: Select all

depmod
and reboot and see if things stick.

Re: wont load drivers on boot anymore

Hello, This is my first post on this forum. Thanks go out to MX Linux Developers, administrators, Hosts,Helpers, etc. I had loaded NDISWRAPPER and then a "Windows" driver for my WiFI to try it out because I would occasionally have connection issues.....Upon Re-booting there was a "Kernel Panic". So...

Re: Test repo mx grey theme

we do not have a mx-greybird theme in our test repo. there is only one in our stable repo. If you are running debian testing repos (not the same as our mx test repo), then I suggest the debian-testing repo version of greybird. our version has not been updated for the later gtk toolkit present in deb...

Re: AMD ATI Drivers Changed?

no clue, the driver's haven't changed.

although it might be a good idea to check to see if the brightness has just been set to 0. sometimes uefi vs. legacy boots can have different brightness values (my thinkpad does this, the controls are inverted depending on how the machine boots).

Re: where is message after bash login defined

I'm honestly not sure. I don't get the mail prompt. I do get a "last login" info, but no mail.

Re: (MX17.1) Extremely low file copy speed to an external usb pen or disk (fat32 formatted)

doing some filesystem research online I've found that in fact, fat32 formatted devices are measurably slower than the same device with a more modern format. could be part of the equation here. scenario: file transfer appears fast until some cache or buffer on the device is full, then slows down to t...

Re: Can't update

Am I correct in assuming that this involves opening the repo manager and selecting "select fastest MX repo for me?" If so, could this be included in the left click menu item of the PM so it is easily found? Just a thought... The fastest is not always the one which is most uptodate or is available f...
