Antix might not have gnome-keyring installed. That would be something to check Think is is installed see my list, but how would I check? JR check in synaptic. its shows all the status of each package. but I see in your list that libpam-gnome-keyring is already installed in antiX (as fehlix noted). ...

MXPI cannot downgrade.

When I downgrade, I remove the package then reinstall from the repo I want. You can sometimes also force a downgrade with synaptic.

Mx package installer will not enable the test repo unless you actually install something. After the install is complete the test repo is disabled. Just clicking on the test repo tab does not enable the test repo. I suppose it's possible that if you started to install something from the test repo tab...

as I suspected, your test repo is enabled. not sure how that happened but its there 2: deb http://nl.mxrepo.com/mx/testrepo/ stretch test so you need to disable the test repo, then apt-get remove apt-cache xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin followed with apt-get install xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin to pull in the...

umm....there weren't big updates. the greatest part of the settings you mention are controlled by the gtk theme and icon settings. is everything else working ok? it almost sounds like you did an update with the test repo enabled, and picked up the gtk3 version of whiskermenu. inxi -r will let us see...
