Re: Firefox, Xfce, GTK+2;+3

OK. Thank you. So my thingking was wrong, that the desktop envirement must support GTK+3 to bring GTK+3 programs into run. It works becuse MX Linux has GTK+3 separate. Right? think of it this way...the desktop environment is just another set of applications. and all applications can coexist as long...

Re: Firefox, Xfce, GTK+2;+3

Thank you. Not sure if I understand what you want to say. Do you want to say, that xfce does only support GTK+2, but in MX Linux also GTK+3 is installed? And Firefox can use this GTK+3? Or want you to say: If Firefox does not find GTK+3 it will automaticall use QT. And as xface does not support GTK...

So I guess "Xfce 4.12.3" does only support GTK+2. Right? I also read in the internet, that firefox does not longer ...

Re: Grub has gone missing after BIOS reset

if your bios has an option, you can add the entry back. The EFI file is still on the ESP partition, its just the nvram entry on the motherboard was wiped when you did the reset. So look in your bios settings to re-add the entry. Otherwise, you can boot up the 18.3, use the chroot rescue menus from t...

Re: MX Linux Boots Into Blank Desktop

Try removing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. IIRC some.folks have an issue where the xfce desktop doesn't load up correctly when the basic xorg.conf is present.

Re: Unable to Change Desktop Environment?

Did you choose your new envornoment on the log in screen? Because it defaults to xfce.

Re: the data in /home can not be preserved

probably not right away.

Here's the work around for you. You could just install with /home to the root directory, then add your home folder afterwards via fstab.

Re: Is this Linux Malware something that we need to be concerned about?

not unless you use gnome extensions, and even then you would have to use the particular extension mentioned in the article.
