Thanks Jerry. That essentially worked. I had a bit of trouble installing LO-core after removing it but installed the plain LO package and that loaded up new versions of everything. I never paid any attention to the fact some of these packages loaded everything. Good to know.

Does anyone know why when I try to upgrade many of the pakages in LO the installer wants to remove other components. Specifically if I try to upgrade base (the DB program, not base-core) it wants to remove calc. If I try to upgrade writer it wants to remove both base and calc. And one more for good ...
