ted Have you checked whether the brightness controls are now inverted? IE does darken down now equal brighten up and vice versa? Research shows that, as yet, there is no linux driver available for the audio card in your laptop. You may have to purchase an external sound card like this one as a work...

your rig has an "always on" USB-C port. In the past where that port has been occupied at shutdown, there have been some complications IE reboot loops etc.
